Running now through February 1st, you’ll have the chance to see rising star comics, listen in on fascinating discussions with Jewish humorists and writers, and immerse yourself in storytelling and history. Featuring renowned local, national, and international artists, the festival reflects a wide range of talent in the Jewish community.

Rice Park

Each holiday season, the plaza of Downtown St. Paul’s Rice Park becomes a twinkly wonderland, with hundreds of thousands of white lights adorning the trees. Stroll through the park with your sweetie, then head over to Wells Fargo WinterSkate to take a twirl on the rink.

An experience well beyond just holiday light displays, the annual Holidazzle celebration pulls out all the stops with food, music, local vendors, and even fireworks in Loring Park. Check the event schedule and bring the family for outdoor fun in December.

Summit Avenue

Drive down historic Summit Avenue in St. Paul to take in the sights. Not only are some of the cities oldest, most impressive homes on this iconic strip, but so is the Governor’s residence. Many of the homes take great pride in their holiday decor, so take a cruise and enjoy. Guided and self-guided tours of the Governor’s residence are available.

The annual beer lover’s holiday, Oktoberfest celebrates German brewing at its finest. With a wide variety of events happening in both September and October in the Twin Cities, you’ll have plenty of time to put on your lederhosen and experience local craft beer, great food, and entertainment.

Oktoberfest in Germany kicks off September 21st, and nearby LTD Brewing in Hopkins is hosting a kickoff event the same day, with German-themed trivia, food, special brewery barrel-aged bottle beers, and the official release of their 2019 Sleepwalker IIIPA and Oktoberfest beers. Fancy yourself a fish out of water? Prove your mettle at the Chain of Lakes Open Swim Classic, happening Sunday, August 27th at Bde Maka Ska — just around the corner from Parkway 25 Luxury Apartments. Register before the 24th to participate as a competitor in this fun annual event, which challenges experienced swimmers to swim across Bde Maka Ska in two separate course distances of 1.5 miles and 2.4 miles. A lifeguard sanctioned event produced in collaboration with the MPRB Open Swim Club, the Swim Classic presents a fun opportunity for participants to enjoy the beauty of Bde Maka Ska while testing their skills.

Not an endurance swimmer? No problem. Cheer the competitors on from the sidelines and enjoy a beautiful late summer day on the lake.

Swimmer registration is open through August 24. Cost: $65 (minus $15 discount for MPRB Open Swim Club participants)

At Parkway 25 Luxury Apartments we’re luck to be just a stone’s throw away from a plethora of parks, lakes, and outdoor recreation spots that are free and open to the public. Each month in the Spring and Fall you can join your friends, neighbors, and community for a group nature excursion at Walk the Park! Enjoy a leisurely 1-2 mile walk through beautiful local parks in the area with new friends — no fee or registration required.

Walk the Park takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month, with July 13th, 2019 being the next outing. Meet at the parking lot on Oxford Street at Creekside Park; walk begins at promptly 9:30am.

In addition to beaches, water recreation, and more, our fair Bde Maka Ska is a sure-fire bet for getting in your steps. Take a leisurely walk around the full lake with a friend to take in the scenery. Aquatic Park

While you may prefer to stay close to home in Parkway 25’s own deluxe pool and zen courtyard, there’s no denying a classic water park experience is pure summer fun. Head to St. Louis Park’s very own Aquatic Park for access to 4-story water slides, spray arches, water geysers, an obstacle course, diving boards, and more. Westwood Hills Nature Center

Hike, explore, and learn at Westwood Hills Nature Center, where the flora and fauna of the area is at your fingertips. SLP’s Rotary Club and City government have teamed up for the 6th year in a row to host Bundled Up, a fun-in-the-snow outdoor event that features family-friendly activities for everyone. Enjoy the great outdoors at beautiful Oak Hill Park with family and friends, where you’ll experience bonfires, live music, hot cocoa, hayrides, s’mores, and even sledding and snowshoeing (providing we’ve got snow). “Bundle up” in your warmest winter finery and join the community at this fun seasonal celebration.

Best of India

Authentic Indian fare in the ‘burbs? You got it! Best of India restaurant has been tantalizing tastebuds in SLP since 2005. Famous for their amazing daily lunch buffet, which rotates new, chef-made dishes regularly, this independently-owned restaurant is truly the real deal. Yard House

A go-to destination for vegetarians (and their meat loving friends), Yard House is a definite crowd pleaser. Regularly ranked one of the top biking destinations in the country, more than half of all Minnesotans take up wheels each year for fitness, commuting, and enjoyment. St. Louis Park is no exception, with a number of regional bike trails that connect to Downtown Minneapolis, Chaska and beyond, as well as many bike-friendly parks and lakes. Make the most of the summer by taking a spin in the great wide open!

Cedar Lake Trail

Featuring a 3.6-mile trail that connects SLP to downtown, with a changing landscape and dual lanes for both bikers and walkers.

Cedar Lake Extension Trail

Connecting the Cedar Lake Trail from Downtown Minneapolis to the Southwest Trail in Hopkins, this 4.3-mile paved trail follows the Hutchinson Spur rail line.

Cedar Lake Regional Trail

5 miles of smooth, pavement connects the Kennilworth Trail to Hopkins and follows the rail line along Highway 7, eventually ending up in Chaska. The Southwest Trail also links east to the Kennilworth and Midtown Greenway in Minneapolis.
